The Point Where Premiums Drop Off
The 100 oz bar sits where per-ounce premiums fall sharply while the piece stays easy enough to handle and store. Asahi Refining is a COMEX-approved name with refining operations in North America, and its bars move quickly on the resale market for that reason. Every bar holds a full 100 troy ounces, .999 fine, and ships in one of two varieties depending on current stock.
Two Varieties, Same Silver
The struck bar carries a squared profile with rounded corners and a lightly brushed face: the Asahi chevron logo sits at the top over ASAHI REFINING USA, with 100 TOZ, FINE SILVER, and 999 stamped below, a unique serial number pressed into a recessed panel near the base, and a plain reverse. The cast bar looks nothing like it. Poured rather than pressed, its top surface carries the gentle ripples that come from silver cooling in an open mold, with an oval hallmark reading ASAHI ASSAYERS REFINERS and an SLC stamp for the Salt Lake City refinery, weight and purity struck into the lower portion. Same silver, two different faces, depending on which one ships.
Variety Is Our Choice, Not Yours
Both varieties carry the same silver content and the same .999 purity guarantee from the refiner, and Asahi backs every 100 oz bar, struck or cast, with a certificate of assay and its own unique serial number. New bars arrive with bright, unhandled surfaces, though poured bars will always show more surface variation than struck ones simply by nature of how they’re made. Variety cannot be selected, only guaranteed once it ships.
LBMA and COMEX Accreditation, Eligible for an IRA
Asahi Refining holds London Bullion Market Association Good Delivery accreditation and COMEX-approved status, the credentials that let its bars move between dealers and depositories without a fresh assay each time. At .999 fine, this bar also clears the IRS’s minimum for a precious metals IRA. Accreditation is what travels, bar to bar, dealer to dealer.
Asahi 100 oz Silver Bar Specifications
Every bar holds 100 troy ounces of .999 fine silver, struck or cast depending on stock, each with its own serial number and assay certificate. 100 full ounces, .999 fine, whichever variety ships. Full current specs are on the Specifications tab above.
Asahi 100 oz Silver Bar FAQ
Will I get the struck or cast variety?
Either, depending on what’s in stock when your order ships. Variety is our choice, not a request you can make at checkout.
Does this bar have a serial number?
Yes. Asahi pairs every 100 oz bar it makes, struck or cast, with a unique serial number and a certificate of assay. Every bar is serialized, regardless of which variety ships.
Is the Asahi 100 oz Silver Bar IRA eligible?
Yes. Asahi Refining’s LBMA accreditation and this bar’s .999 fine purity clear the IRS’s requirements for a precious metals IRA. Eligibility isn’t a close call, given the accreditation behind it.
What condition does it ship in?
New, straight from the refiner with no handling in between. Cast bars show more natural surface variation than struck ones by nature of the pour, which isn’t a defect. Condition is new, not a numeric or third-party grade.
How much silver am I actually getting?
A full 100 troy ounces of .999 fine silver, the same regardless of which variety ships. Only the face changes, never the silver content.

Just got my 2 new ASAHI 100 TOZ loaf bars in the mail… Nothing more than bulk silver at a VERY low premium. Perfect! NOT super pretty….but I didn’t need or even want pretty. Just a bigger bar at a very fair price. Thank You HERO Bullion for delivering exactly what I wanted, fast!

Bar design is nice and well wrapped. However, there are a lot of deep dents and scratches which took away the “beauty” of it. I also collect the Germania bars and they are always consistent, although they are a few dollars more.

Beautiful bar…the images don’t do it justice. The surface finish is smooth on all sides. Herobullion was super quick on the shipping…ordered on a Tuesday, wired money same day…bar arrived the following Friday. Thank you!
