The front presents Aeternitas, the virtue of eternity, seated on a rock ledge in a flowing classical gown with a laurel crown and long waved hair. Her name is worked into the sash at her waist, and one arm rests beside a small hourglass at the lower right. Below her, a large fossilized dinosaur skull juts from the stone, its teeth and eye socket rendered in detail, surrounded by ferns and desert plants. Behind her rise red rock mesas and canyon walls, with pterosaurs gliding through the sky alongside a hawk. The imagery draws on Utah’s standing as one of the richest dinosaur fossil regions in North America. The line “Life is eternal” appears in script above the base panel. The 10 denomination sits inside an ornamental rosette at the upper left, with UTAH, Goldbacks, and Negotiable Instrument across the top. An AURUM serial number runs vertically along the left edge next to the GB seal and the α 2026 series mark. The base panel reads 1/100th Troy Ounce 24K Gold, payable in US gold coin to bearer on demand, with TEN at the bottom.
The back carries the same artwork in reverse impression on an unprinted gold surface. Under ultraviolet light the note shifts to violet with the border and lettering fluorescing, one of several security features alongside serialization and microprinting.
