The second design of the $10 Gold Eagle designs was used from 1838 to 1907. The Liberty Head coin is loved by collectors for how rare they are particularly in great condition like this Almost Uncirculated (AU) condition. They also love the silver content which was .90 fine silver. This makes it attractive to investors and collectors.
Key features:
- Made of 0.4838 troy oz. .90 fine gold
- Face value of $10 backed by the US Mint
- Designed by Christian Gobrecht
- Condition is Almost Uncirculated (AU)
Designed by Christian Gobrecht, this version of Lady Liberty is a neoclassical rendition. She was inspired by the Greco-Roman artists and is shown in profile with thick curls. She is wearing a thick crown. Framing her face are thirteen stars symbolizing the thirteen colonies. At the bottom of the coin is the year the coin was issued. The year of coin you get is dependent on the stock on hand.
The reverse side of this coin has Gobrecht’s version of the heraldic eagle which has the national bid with a shield. Underneath the eagle it is clutching an olive branch and a bunch of arrows. Around the eagle is ‘UNITED STATES OF AMERICA’ and at the bottom is ‘TEN D.” Coins made after 1866 also have a banner above the eagle that says ‘IN GOD WE TRUST’. The date of the coin you receive will depend on stock on hand so may not have this banner.
Here is an Almost Uncirculated (AU) condition $10 Liberty Head Gold Coin available for a short time. This is your opportunity to own a piece of history. These coins are limited to stock and hand so the year will vary from 1838-1907. Once they are gone we don’t know if we can get more so get yours today.
