When the zombie apocalypse comes, coin makers will look to the past for inspiration and of course, they would love to use the Mercury dime design. Of course, they would need to update them to reflect the times. It may look something like the Murk Diem round. This round looks fabulous in 1 AVDP oz of .999 fine copper.
Key features:
- 1 AVDP oz .999 fine copper
- Obverse side has a zombie version of the Mercury dime design-Murk Diem
- Reverse side features a blood spattered biohazard symbol.
The Mercury dime sometimes referred to as the Winged Liberty Dime was released in 1916 and ran until 1945. This coin was designed by Adolph Weinman and was very popular. In 1945 the design was replaced by a design to honor the passing of Franklin D. Roosevelt.
On the obverse of this round is Mercury, the winged messenger god now zombiefied into Murk Diem. This is a clever play on words as murk sounds like murky as in dark and diem means day in Latin. It would seem Murk Diem means Dark Day. However, Murk is kind of short for Mercury and Diem could be pronounced DI-EM like a dime. Replacing ‘LIBERTY’ at the top of the coin is ‘Murk Diem’. To the left of the image is 2 and the zombucks symbol. At the bottom is ‘2018’.
On the reverse is a blood spattered biohazard, a somber reminder of the virus or pathogen that will have caused the zombie apocalypse or the fact that a zombie bite can pass on zombieism. Inscribed above the image is ‘ZOMBUCKS’, CURRENCY OF THE APOCALYPSE’. Below is ‘1 oz .999 FINE COPPER’.
Zombucks may well be the preferred currency of the zombie apocalypse and now is a great time to stock up so you can be prepared. Don’t leave out your friends and families. Give these as gifts and they will thank you later.
