The Saint-Gaudens design is widely regarded as the finest artwork ever applied to American coinage, originally created by sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens for the U.S. $20 Gold Double Eagle in 1907. This 1 oz .999 fine silver round brings that iconic imagery into an affordable, stackable format. No legal tender status, no annual mintage caps — just a full troy oz of silver struck with one of the most recognized designs in numismatic history, priced accessibly for collectors and silver buyers alike.

Key Features:

  • Purity and Weight: 1 troy oz of .999 fine silver
  • Metal: Silver
  • Obverse Design: Full-figure Liberty striding forward, torch raised in right hand, olive branch in left, radiating sunburst background, Capitol building at lower left, ring of stars around the border
  • Reverse Design: Eagle in horizontal flight across a sunburst field; inscription “ONE TROY OUNCE .999 FINE SILVER” along the upper arc; “HM” mintmark visible at right

The obverse reproduces the Saint-Gaudens Liberty in confident, high-relief style. The full figure strides forward with robes in motion, a torch held aloft in her right hand and an olive branch extended in her left. Radiating sunburst lines fan outward behind her, and the Capitol building is rendered in low relief at the lower left. A ring of 46 stars circles the border, consistent with the original Double Eagle design. The composition is bold and deeply struck, with strong separation between the figure and the background.

The reverse departs from the original Double Eagle and instead presents a soaring eagle in horizontal flight, wings fully extended and individual feathers struck with clear definition across both the primary and secondary flight feathers. The bird crosses a field of diverging rays, with “ONE TROY OUNCE .999 FINE SILVER” inscribed along the upper arc. The “HM” mintmark appears to the right of the eagle’s tail.

The round is struck with a reeded edge and a finish that sits between proof and BU, with bright fields and well-defined high points. No date appears on either face, making this a design-focused bullion round suited to any year of purchase.

One troy oz of .999 fine silver, a strike quality that does justice to Saint-Gaudens’ original sculpting, and a price point well below comparable numismatic pieces make this round a practical choice. Add the 1 oz Saint-Gaudens Silver Round to your cart today.
