The Saint Gaudents 1oz Copper Round is a replica design of the $20 Saint Gaudens Double Eagle that was designed by Augustus St. Gaudens in 1907 when Theodore Roosevelt charged him to make the coinage more beautiful. The result is this beautiful design with Lady Liberty walking toward the viewer and a shield with eagle wings on the other side.   • Obverse has an image of Lady Liberty holding a flaming torch in one hand and olive branch in the other. Above her is ‘LIBERTY. 
  • Reverse side has a shield with stars on it and two eagle wings on both sides. Above it is ‘COPPER .999 FINE’. Below the image is ‘ONE AVDP OUNCE’.

The obverse side of the coin has Augustus St Gaudens depiction of Lady Liberty. She is shown coming toward the viewer with a look of determination. At her feet is Washington D.C and the sun is shown rising behind her. She is carrying a flaming torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. Written above her head is the word ‘Liberty’. Surrounding Liberty’s image are fifty stars representing the fifty states of the U.S. 

 

On the reverse side of the coin is an image of a shield with eagle wings. The shield has three stars on it. Below the shield is ‘USA’. Above the winged shield is an American flag waving. Written at the top of the coin is ‘COPPER .999 FINE’. At the bottom of the coin is ‘ONE AVDP OUNCE’.
