The Morgan Silver Dollar is a super popular coin and has been for a long, long time. Collectors love this coin for the beautiful design and for their scarcity. This coin was originally minted from 1978-1904. Production was halted once silver became scarce. The coins that were in circulation from that point until 1921 were all the silver dollars that were available. Many people saved them for their silver content. They were reintroduced for one year in 1921 before another design was adopted. These are from the original run from 1978-1904 (depending on stock on hand) and are in brilliant uncirculated (BU) condition.

Key features:

  • Contains .7734 Troy oz of actual silver content.
  • Brilliant Uncirculated condition
  • Face value of $1 (USD) is fully backed by the US government.
  • Obverse features the left-profile portrait of Liberty.
  • Reverse includes the American bald eagle.

It was once feared that the Morgan design was lost forever. The only remaining ones were in very rough shape. In 1921 when they decided to bring back the design for the silver dollars that were back in production, there was a collective sigh of relief. The mints produced over 87 million of the Morgan designed coins until the design was replaced in 1922. These coins are even more sought after than the 1921 ones because these were the original ones. Also, nobody really knows how many still exist today. These coins are in brilliant uncirculated condition which means they have the full luster of an uncirculated coin and no real signs of wear.

The Pre ‘21 Morgan Silver Dollar offered here are all dated before 1921 and are in BU condition. The mint marks will vary depending on availability and can be from any of the mints that made coins during that period and include Philadelphia, Carson City, San Francisco, New Orleans and Denver. The obverse side of the coin has a portrait of Lady Liberty where she is facing to the left wearing a phrygian cap. Around her image are 13 stars representing the original 13 colonies. Above her head is ‘E PLURIBUS UNUM. Below her is 1921.

The reverse side has an American bald eagle clutching arrows in its left talon and an olive branch in its right. Around the top edge of the coin is ‘UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Right underneath this text is ‘IN GOD WE TRUST’. Under the eagle is ‘ONE DOLLAR’.

The Morgan Silver Dollar is a super popular coin and the ones dated before 1921 are even more popular. Getting one in brilliant uncirculated condition is no easy feat since they are so old and most had heavy circulation. Opportunity is knocking, answer the door.

This coin was my first real silver dollar, just recieved it and no silver coin or round has put a smile on my face like this one. It’s like holding history. The word liberty is hidden in her hair. It’s from arguably the greatest era in American history. The condition is good enough to see and appreciate all the details, not worn from 100+ years of circulation.

I purchased two of these. I’m super happy with both coins I received. One is very shiny with very minute wear and the other has almost no wear to be seen and some glorious tones of blue, gold and brown in a halo around liberty’s hair. Must have in any collection.

Hero is doubted because their new I guess. This was order no.3 and the coins are perfect! I’m waiting for no. 4 to arrive I got a little crazy and bought collector pieces this time, cant wait. Going back to stacking next week and I’m trusting them all the way! So much cheaper then JM! Gainesville who I had to email 2 time to get them shipped, like they where going to use my coins to make a higher sale and wait to ship mine when the price came down. Trust Hero Bullion their not playing games with your coins.

The Morgans I ordered appeared to have never even been in a bank bag. I mean all but flawless and on one I really can’t find any flaw, NOTHING. It’s like someone working at the Philadelphia mint grabbed one right after the die struck and pocketed it only to have it for sale 138 years later to a schmuck like me!!
Great price when compared to other sellers and always great communications. Packaging……..well prepare to spend some time unraveling the superb padding Hero uses for everything and most especially for the Morgans I received. Superb coin, unreal condition and incredible seller in Hero Bullion!

Ordered 2. The best one of the 2, paid $55 and received an 1899 P ms 63+ original mint state, luster no cleaning and not dipped, even ungraded easily a $300+ coin. Amazing.

Sadly while the 1885 O looked beautiful and MS details the fields were heavily cleaned with a wire brush at some point. Scoped the coin and this is even more evident. Still a beautiful coin and I’ll keep it but not something to make a profit on.

Overall 5 stars. If anyone buys these it’s worth it, and if you’re not knowledgeable on coins please make sure to were cloth or nitrile gloves and properly store it for numismatic history
