Two Coats of Arms, Waving Across One Bar
The Maryland Stacking Across America 1 oz Copper Bar runs the state’s own flag across the bottom of the obverse, black and gold checks on one side and a red and white cross on the other, the two family crests Maryland’s flag is actually built from. Maryland sits above it in black script, STACKING in bold block letters through the center. It holds one avoirdupois ounce of .999 fine copper.
The Design
Maryland runs across the top of the obverse in black cursive script, over a plain white field, then STACKING fills the center in large bold black letters. The bottom band carries the state flag rippling in a wave, the black and gold checkerboard of the Calvert arms on the left running into the red and white cross of the Crossland arms on the right. Two heraldic patterns, the same split the real Maryland flag carries. A black corner tab reads 2027, styled like the plate’s registration sticker. The reverse drops the color entirely: an engraved American flag with a dashed road line running through the stripes, and STACKIN’ ACROSS AMERICA across the lower half.
An Avoirdupois Ounce, Not a Troy Ounce
The reverse marks the weight as 1oz AVDP. That’s the avoirdupois ounce, the one a kitchen scale reads in, not the troy ounce that silver and gold bullion is weighed in.
