The Aztec Calendar 5 oz Silver Bar dedicates five troy ounces of .999 fine silver to imagery from one of the ancient world’s most famous artifacts. Bars in this series have become a staple among stackers who want their silver to carry real artwork, pairing a low premium over spot with obverse and reverse designs detailed enough to reward close study.

Key Features:

  • Purity and Weight: 5 troy ounces of .999 fine silver
  • Metal Type: Investment-grade silver bullion, IRA eligible
  • Obverse: A portrait of Cuauhtémoc, the last Aztec emperor, in a feathered headdress
  • Reverse: A full rendering of the Aztec Calendar Stone

The obverse presents a left-facing profile of Cuauhtémoc, who led the Aztec Empire in its final stand at Tenochtitlan in 1521. He wears an elaborate feathered war headdress that cascades down behind his shoulder, along with a large circular ear ornament and patterned armor, with his name inscribed beneath the portrait. FIVE TROY OUNCES spans the top of the bar and .999 FINE SILVER the bottom, framed by a stepped geometric border drawn from Mesoamerican motifs.

The reverse reproduces the Aztec Calendar Stone, the massive carved sun disc unearthed in Mexico City in 1790 and now the centerpiece of Mexico’s National Museum of Anthropology. The face of the sun god Tonatiuh stares from the center, tongue extended in the form of a sacrificial blade, ringed by the four glyphs of previous world eras. Concentric bands carry the twenty day-signs of the Aztec ritual calendar, and two fire serpents trace the outer circumference, their heads meeting at the base. A patterned border of glyphs frames the entire composition edge to edge.

Each bar ships in new condition. At .999 fineness it meets IRS purity requirements and is eligible for precious metals IRAs. The 5 oz format builds weight faster than single ounces while staying easy to store, trade, and sell.
