The Asahi Buffalo 1 oz Silver Round revives one of the most beloved designs in American coinage on one troy ounce of .999 fine silver. Struck by Asahi Refining, an LBMA-accredited refiner with operations in Salt Lake City, it gives investors an affordable, easily traded ounce and gives collectors the classic Buffalo Nickel imagery in brilliant modern silver.
Key Features:
- Purity and Weight: 1 troy ounce of .999 fine silver
- Metal Type: Investment-grade silver bullion, IRA eligible
- Obverse: A Native American profile inspired by James Earle Fraser’s Buffalo Nickel, with LIBERTY inscribed at the left
- Reverse: An American bison standing on a raised mound, framed by weight and purity inscriptions
The obverse carries a right-facing portrait of a Native American man rendered in high relief. Feathers hang from his hair, which is gathered into a wrapped braid falling past his shoulder, and the strong lines of his face stand out sharply against a mirror-bright field. The word LIBERTY curves along the upper left rim, and Asahi’s stylized mintmark sits below the portrait. The design pays direct tribute to Fraser’s 1913 Buffalo Nickel, a coin whose obverse combined the features of several Native American chiefs into one composite portrait.
The reverse shows the companion side of that tribute: a full-bodied American bison standing left on a textured mound of ground, its shoulder hump and shaggy coat struck in fine detail. ONE TROY OUNCE arcs across the top rim and .999 SILVER anchors the bottom, leaving no doubt about what the round contains. Deep, polished fields surround both designs and give the piece strong contrast straight out of the mint.
Each round ships in new condition. At .999 fineness it qualifies for precious metals IRAs, and as a private-mint round it carries no face value, which keeps its premium over spot low. One-ounce rounds are among the most liquid formats in silver, simple to buy in quantity and just as simple to sell a few at a time.
Classic design, trusted refiner, low premium. Order the Asahi Buffalo 1 oz Silver Round today and add an American icon to your stack, one ounce at a time.

My first Asahi Buffalo!
First I want to say Hero Bullion reminds me of one of the special forces guys I knew in Okinawa. Incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, fair. Integrity. But also fast! Fast to deliver. Whether that be fast to deliver compliments to those deserving, or help to in or assist in kicking the ass of your atogonists. That is a Hero to me.
Now, for the Asahi Buffalo. Honestly, I was let down. Perhaps my first just happened to be one of many others’ last. While yes, it probably did have a mirror finish at some point, it now has stains on the obverse..Front.
But, thank God it’s just a round, so, no harm, no foul. Make no mistake, I will be ordering more from my new BFF, Hero.
Thanks guys!

Asahi’s move into the Silver Round market with the release of their first Buffalo is as expected. I have been buying their serialized bars for years. Their Buffalo Round is of Excellent Quality and finish. It has a Mirrored Proof like finish with a “Frosted” Indian head and Buffalo. The coin has no jagged edges. The boarder has smooth non-jagged reeding. The overall quality is on par with Sunshine Mints Buffalo. I will be buying more and “Highly” recommend the Asahi Buffalo to any Bullion investor.
