The Argentia Herakles 5 oz Silver Round is a beautiful tribute to one of the most famous figures from Greek and Roman mythology. Herakles (commonly known as Hercules) was renowned for his strength and was the subject of many writings and art throughout Greece and Rome. He was also seen as a champion of the people. Here he is depicted in a closeup from the neck up. This image looks a lot like the statues that were erected in his honor. It looks great in .9999 fine silver.

He is most famous for the feats of strength he performed during the ‘12 Labors’. The stories of his great strength and triumph in battle rang throughout Greece and Rome.
The obverse of this round is a depiction of Herakles as he was rendered on coins during the reign of Alexander the Great. He is shown here in his profile. The way his eyes are drawn here is like they look in statues. The great detail shows all the curly hairs of Herakles. He is wearing a headdress that is made of lion’s skin.
On the reverse side of the round is a design element repeated in a pattern with the mint’s logo in the middle. Under the logo is, ‘5 oz FINE SILVER .9999’.
