She strides forward with wings fully extended, a laurel crown raised in her right hand and broken chains held low in her left, her gown pressed against the legs and trailing behind. The reverse carries the Liberian arms inside a beaded circle: a sailing ship approaching a shoreline, a palm tree, a plough and spade, and a sun rising over the water, with a dove in flight above.
