The obverse presents Arnhild facing the viewer, her hair loose over armored shoulders, dressed in scale mail with a studded belt and bracers. She grips an upright spear in one hand while a large eagle perches beside her, wings folded, above a quiver of arrows at her hip. Behind them, ravens wheel over a thatched settlement and rocky hills, and her name is inscribed in runes across the top of the design. In Norse tradition the valkyries chose the worthy from the battlefield, and Arnhild, whose name evokes the eagle, is drawn here with her namesake at her side. The reverse forms a plank shield with a polished central boss, bordered by knotwork and serpent motifs. A fierce eagle’s head rises on the left, the Germania Mint double-headed eagle crest on the right, with GERMANIA 2025 1 oz Ag 999.9 above and the 5 MARK denomination below.
