The 2023 Australian ½ Gold Lunar Rabbit coin is a celebration of the Rabbit in honor of the Year of the Rabbit. To those lucky enough to be born in the years 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011, or 2023, the rabbit is said to bestow creativity, vigilance, intelligence, and compassion. The Perth Mint masterfully crafted this coin out of .9999 fine gold.

Key features:

  • Made of 1/2 Troy oz of .9999 fine gold
  • Presented in an acrylic capsule
  • Fourth of 12 annual designs
  • Minted by the Perth Mint
  • Obverse side has the image of Queen Elizabeth II
  • Reverse side has picture of two rabbits and the Chinese symbol for a rabbit

This is the fourth coin in the Perth Mint’s Lunar III series. The previous coins, mouse, ox and tiger were wildly popular and a favorite of collectors. This coin has all the things you want in a collectible bullion coin-superior quality, great design, and built in demand as many collectors around the world love the lunar calendar coins.

The obverse side of this coin features Jody Clark’s effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. With the queen’s passing, coins with her image on them are in high demand as these are the last few coins that will have her likeness as future coins will have the image of King Charles III on them. In this effigy, the queen is wearing a tiara and her pearl jewelry. Above her head is ‘ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA’. Below her is ‘1/2 oz 9999 Au 50 DOLLARS’.

On the reverse is an image of two rabbits. One is standing erect appearing to sniff at the branch above their head. The other is sitting and looking off to the right. To their right is the Chinese symbol for ‘rabbit’. Under the symbol is ‘RABBIT 2023”.  At the bottom right is the Perth Mint’s mint mark.

Ring in the Year of the Rabbit with the 2023 Australian ½ oz Gold Lunar Rabbit coin. These are sure to be super popular like the other coins in the Lunar Series III.  Get yours today.
