The reverse presents a rabbit mid-leap through a stand of tall grasses with feathery plumes bending around it. The animal is rendered with fine textural detail — individually struck fur across the body, alert upright ears, and hind legs fully extended at the apex of the jump. The grasses frame the rabbit on both sides, their stalks and seed heads struck in lower relief to create depth in the field. The Chinese character for “Rabbit” (兔) appears at the upper left, with the English inscription “RABBIT 2023” directly below it. The “P” Perth Mint mark sits at the lower right. Designed by Ing Ing Jong, who has created multiple Lunar Series designs for the Perth Mint since 2013, the composition captures the energy and elegance associated with the zodiac sign. The obverse carries the sixth and final official portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, sculpted by Jody Clark and introduced in 2015. She is depicted in right-facing profile wearing the George IV State Diadem, with the inscriptions confirming the issuing nation, metal content, purity, and $50 AUD face value. The “JC” artist initials are struck at the base of the portrait.
The coin arrives individually in a protective acrylic capsule preserving its Brilliant Uncirculated surface. Multiples of 20 coins are available in sealed rolls. As a Perth Mint bullion coin, it carries the Australian government’s guarantee of weight and purity and is recognized for its liquidity in global precious metals markets.
