The obverse side of this coin features Jody Clark’s design of Queen Elizabeth II. This artwork was commissioned by the Royal Mint in 2015. The Queen is depicted as she was at age 89 with her diadem crown and royal jewels. Clark really captures the queen in great detail including the character lines on her face. Above the queen is ‘ELIZABETH II’ and ‘AUSTRALIA’. Below her is ‘1 DOLLAR’. 

 

On the reverse side is a left profile of an Australian Kangaroo hopping. Behind the kangaroo, is a large sunburst. This image is based on  Stuart Devlin’s design first seen on the Australian Copper Penny. Above the kangaroo is ‘Australian Kangaroo’. At the bottom is ‘2023 1 oz 9999 SILVER.
