The new 1 oz British Gold Royal Arms coin is out for 2022 and the Royal Mint delivers again. This is the 4th year they have issued the Royal Arms coin and it is quickly becoming a favorite for collectors everywhere. The Royal Arms coin looks gorgeous in .9999 fine gold. This design that celebrates the Royal Monarchy seems perfectly matched in a gold coin. This year’s coin is very limited with only 5000 of them being available worldwide.
Key features:
- Extremely limited with only 5000 available worldwide
- Made of 1 Troy ounce of .9999 fine gold
- 4th year of the Royal Arms series
- Obverse has picture of Queen Elizabeth II
- The reverse side has the Royal Arms of England
- Face value of 100 pounds
The obverse side has the 2015 Jody Clark design of Elizabeth II. She is shown here wearing the diadem crown of George IV. She is facing to the right and wearing the royal jewels. The design has a tremendous amount of design and personality in the detail where they capture everything down to the curls on her head and the lines on her face. Above her head on the right side has ‘100 POUNDS’ which is the face value of the coin backed by the United Kingdom. At the top right is ‘ELIZABETH II’. At the bottom of this side are the initials ‘D.G.REG. F.D.’ which is short for the Latin phrase ‘dei gratia regina fidei defensor’ which means ‘By the grace of God, queen, Defender of the faith”.
On the reverse side of the coin is the Royal Arms of England. The Arms are depicted here as a shield that is held up by the Lion of England and the Unicorn of Scotland. Perched at the top of the shield is the Imperial Crown. On the Coat of Arms is the Lion of England at the top left and bottom right quadrant. At the top right is the Lion of Scotland and the bottom left has the harp of Ireland. At the top of the coin is the year of issue while at the bottom is ‘1 OZ FINE GOLD 999.9’.
