The Noble from the Isle of Man has been minted off and on going back to the 80s. It is not minted every year. Consequently, earlier years of nobles can be very hard to find. This adds to the allure and popularity of these coins. This year CIT has released an enhanced version of the noble using their smartminting® technology which brings more detail and a modernized look. For the first time since 1983, the design of the noble has been enhanced. The result is a more realistic portrayal of the viking ship on the reverse. There is more detailing in the viking design around the edge. Jody Clark’s design of Queen Elizabeth II looks like it pops out of the coin. All this on a crown-sized, ½ gram .9999 fine gold coin. Add in the fact that there are only 15000 of these available worldwide and it is clear that this coin is going to be highly sought after.

The obverse features Queen Elizabeth II lovingly designed by Jody Clark. Clark’s rendition really captures her regal nature with great detail from the crown on her head to her dangle earrings. Above her portrait to the left is ‘QUEEN ELIZABETH II’. To the right is ‘ISLE OF MAN’. Below her image is ‘2022’.

On the reverse side is the image of a viking ship. With the ultra-high relief technology you can see the details on the shields affixed to the side of the ship and in the sails. Around the edge of the coin, the braided design all the way to the Triskele, the Isle of Man Coat of Arms at the top, really pops. Below the ship is “Au .9999 ½ Gram”. At the bottom of the coin is ‘NOBLE’.
