The obverse of the coin has Queen Elizabeth in profile and triceratops bones. A meteor is careening toward the Earth cutting through the coin as it goes in the background. Underneath the queen’s picture is ‘Elizabeth II’. At the bottom of the coins is ‘2 DOLLARS NIUE ISLAND 2021’.

The reverse side of the coin has a profile of a triceratops and with an erupting volcano in the background. The lava is accented in red making it look more realistic. Yellow stars dot the sky, as the lava is accented in black and deep purple. The grass near the triceratops has green in it. The triceratops is in the foreground and is in high relief.  The whole effect is a scene with a lot of depth.
