Using .9999 fine silver, the Germania Mint has created something special with this Limited Edition coin featuring the majestic image of Germania standing at the bow seemingly leading the way over the open waters. She is wearing the traditional laurel wreath on her head and is clad in a breastplate of armor with cloth falling from her waist. In her right hand she is wielding the imperial sword, Reichsschwert. In her left hand, she holds a flag that flows back behind her. Around the edge of the coin we see ‘Germania’, ‘2021’ and ‘999.9 Ag’.
The reverse side of the coin features the effigy of the Germania Mint, a fierce looking eagle with two heads and holding crooked looking arrows which are supposed to be lightning bolts. The eagle is surrounded by olive branches. The two headed eagle would be familiar to the German people as it is a symbol of Janus from Germanic Mythology. The eagle’s two heads are pointing two different directions symbolizing the past and future. Perhaps this effigy reminds us of the Germania Mints strong past and bright future.
The Germania Mint has a strong foundation having been founded by the Kurowski Group, a group that has overseen thousands of numismatic projects in the past. They forged the ideals that would govern the mint’s production including creating the coins and packaging. The mint only uses quality metals and creates packaging that protects the coins against outside elements.
