This coin is dedicated to the Japanese water dragon deity, Watatsumi. This design is very detailed and looks great in 2 Troy oz of .999 fine silver and embellished with a pearl.

Dragons are popular all over the world and are the subject of the very popular series by the Mint of Poland. The Dragons series has featured dragons from countries all over the world and this coin is dedicated to Japan and their deity, Watatsumi.

On the obverse is a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II as designed by Ian Rank-Broadley. This version of the queen has her facing to the right and has her wearing a tiara. Outside of her effigy, around the coin, are various designs of dragons. Above her head are ‘ELIZABETH II’ and ‘2 DOLLARS’. At the bottom is ‘NIUE 2021’. To the bottom right in much smaller text is ‘Ag 999’.

The reverse side has a very detailed rendering of Watatsumi, the Japanese dragon deity clutching a pearl in its claw. The dragon is wrapped around a pagoda. In the bottom background, waves are crashing against the shore. At the top in stylized writing is ‘SILVER DRAGON’ and ‘WATATSUMI’.
