REGINA’ which is Latin for ‘By the Grace of God, Queen. Below her image is ‘200 DOLLARS’.
On the reverse of the coin is a familiar scene during the mining boom. Here a miner is panning for gold. He is pouring the water out on the small Maple Leaf at the bottom. . All of this is captured in fine detail by artist Steve Hepburn. The water runs out and over a leaf inside a circle which happens to be one of the security features of the coin. To the left of this leaf, is another micro-engraved maple leaf that has the number 21 in it which is the date of issue. At the top of the coin is ‘CANADA 2021’. Below the image is ‘FINE GOLD 1 OZ OR PURE’. Just above this in smaller font, so humble these Canadians, is ‘99999’.
