The Canadian Gold Maple, the British Gold Britannia, and the American Gold Eagle. These three coins make up the backbone of the government-backed gold coin industry. Almost any investor worth his/her salt should know the importance of these incredible coins. In addition to a strong striking of pure gold, each of these coins also represents a core symbol essential to the identity of the country minting them. There’s no discounting the Bald Eagle’s symbolic importance to the United States. Our official animal, the Bald Eagle has always been one of the core icons of American strength, culture, and resilience.
Even among other editions of the American Gold Eagle, the 2021 ¼ Oz American Gold Eagle Type 2 stands out in a big way. That’s right. Hero Bullion is proud to bring you the first ever edition of the American Gold Eagle to feature an all-new Type 2 design. The major changes to this coin’s appearance come on the reverse side, where the original depiction of a flying eagle is replaced with the beautiful profile of a still eagle. The obverse side of the American Gold Eagle is given a minor change as well; its old bronze casting design has been altered to add even more detail to the classic Walking Liberty depiction.
Key Features:
- ¼ Troy Oz pure gold bullion.
- Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) condition.
- Value backed by the U.S. government.
- Obverse Depiction: A revamped version of “Walking Liberty;” Lady Liberty walks forward while holding an olive branch in one hand and a torch in the other.
- Reverse Depiction: Jennie Norris depicts her brand-new design of a Bald Eagle’s facial portrait.
2021’s release will mark the 35th annual distribution of the American Gold Eagle. For the 35th release, the U.S. Mint behind the American Gold Eagle shocked investors and collectors all over the world with an all-new reverse-side design. The obverse of this classic coin is also getting a small revision, although nothing so dramatic as the complete revamp on the reverse. The obverse of this coin was originally struck using a bronze cast, limiting the amount of detail that designers could put into the final product. The new design includes additional detail, bringing the classic American Gold Eagle coin into the 21st century on both the obverse and reverse.
In addition to the original 1 Troy Ounce coin, the 2021 American Gold Eagle Type 2 is also available in three fractional denominations: ½, ¼, and 1/10. This is, as always, perfect for investors who want more liquidity with their gold bullion. Collecting denominational gold coins gives collectors more control over precisely how much pure gold bullion they have access to at any given moment.
Help us celebrate this historic moment in the course of the U.S. Mint’s most popular coin series with the 2021 ¼ Oz American Gold Eagle Type 2 Coin. Its brand-new design on the reverse is just now becoming available this year, and the increased detail on the obverse side is already turning heads among collectors.
