2021 1/10 oz American Gold Eagle Coin Type 2

2021 is a momentous year for the United States Mint. Last year, the mint announced its plans to release an entirely new version of the classic American Gold Eagle Coin. The reverse of the coin was being given a complete makeover, while the obverse would be touched-up using new state-of-the-art minting technology. The key change from the Type 1 to the Type 2 American Gold Eagle happens on the reverse side. The original design has been in place for over thirty years; it depicted a bald eagle in motion, flying toward its nest and family. The new design ditches the old commitment to a moving eagle. Now, a single bald eagle stares proudly into the distance. Its feathers are fully visible and rendered in spectacular detail. Oh, and did we mention that this fantastic piece is minted using 1/10 Troy Ounce of extremely fine gold bullion?
