The obverse features the iconic effigy of the nation’s first president, George Washington. The profile was created by John Flanagan in 1932 when Congress authorized its placement in honor of the politician’s 200th birthday. “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and “QUARTER DOLLAR” are additionally engraved. The reverse features the iconic Weir Farm, located in Ridgefield, Connecticut. The historic site is where American artist J. Alden Weir drew his inspiration for many of his landscape paintings. The image depicts Weir painting a canvas with his home sitting atop a hill. Detailed trees and grass fill in the remaining space. “A NATIONAL PARK FOR ART”, “WEIR FARM”, “CONNECTICUT”, “E PLURIBUS UNUM” and the year are inscribed.  Composition: Each 5 oz coin is composed of .999 pure silver. Rounds measure 76.2 mm in diameter with smooth edging. Weight and content are provided on the reverse.
