Investors like to buy silver to hedge against inflation. Silver has a lower price point than gold so you can buy more of it and it is more affordable to more people. Savvy investors know that you want quality silver in a form that is easily stored. Silver bars are convenient because you can put them inside of a cabinet or lock them away in a safe because they stack easily. With coins, you can stack them but they can fall over and make a mess all over.
The obverse side of the bar has “100 oz COIN FINE SILVER ,999” at the top. Under this a coin stamped into the gar. On the coin is an image of Queen Elizabeth II. To the left of her image is ‘QUEEN ELIZABETH”. At the top of the coin is ‘100 Dollars”. To the right of her picture is ‘COOK ISLANDS’. At the bottom of the coin is ‘2008’. Underneath the stamped coin is the image of the HMS Bounty stamped into the bar. Below this image is the mint mark of Heimerle and Meule Group. This is a picture of a man pouring molten metal into the molds. Below him is ‘HEIMERLE and MEULE.
The reverse side of the bar is kept blank intentionally.
