Since the Indian Head Gold coin was first introduced in 1908, the Indian Head Gold coin has been a favorite among collectors. The US Mint continued making this coin until 1933 when they ceased making gold coins. Collectors love that this coin has a purity of 90.0%. For a coin of this era, that is impressive. The gold composition alone is enough for some collectors to include it in their collections and portfolios. This coin offered is in AU (Almost Uncirculated) which is super rare for a coin of this era.

The design of this coin was created by the sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens. The obverse side features a very different rendition of Lady Liberty. She is wearing a Native American ceremonial feathered headdress. The message Saing-Gaudens is trying to convey is that America is growing into its own sense of national pride. This national pride is echoed in the inclusion of the thirteen stars in an arched formation above Lady Liberty. At the bottom of the coin is the year the coin was issued.
On the reverse side of the coin is a variation of the Heraldic Eagle. This isn’t the eagle flying or swooping down but a more realistic version of it standing on an olive branch with a bunch of arrows under its feet. He looks fierce and stoic with a lot of detail. Above the eagle is ‘UNITED STATES OF AMERICA’. To the left of the image is ‘IN GOD WE TRUST’. To the right of the eagle’s head is ‘E. PLURIBUS UNUM’. At the bottom of the coin is ‘TEN DOLLARS’.
