The quarter-ounce Gold Maple Leaf gives you the Royal Canadian Mint’s flagship bullion coin in a size that trades quickly and costs a fraction of a full ounce. Struck in 9999 fine gold with a $10 CAD face value, it carries the same security features and the same purity standard as the one-ounce version. Fractional gold sells easily, which matters more than most buyers expect.

Key Features:

  • Purity and Weight: 1/4 troy ounce of .9999 fine gold (24 karat)
  • Metal: Gold, brilliant uncirculated
  • Obverse Design: Portrait of the reigning monarch above 10 DOLLARS and the year
  • Reverse Design: The Canadian sugar maple leaf on a radial line background

Obverse portraits depend on the year of issue. Recent strikes carry the King Charles III effigy in left-facing profile, uncrowned, with the legend CHARLES III across the top. Earlier coins show Susanna Blunt’s portrait of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, wearing a pearl necklace and drop earring. Both sit against the radial line field the Mint introduced in 2015, a pattern of precisely machined lines that fans out from the center and shifts in appearance as the coin tilts. The denomination and date run along the lower rim.

The reverse presents the sugar maple leaf in fine detail, its veins traced individually from the stem out to each serrated point and the blade surface lightly textured against the polished field. CANADA arcs overhead in spaced capitals, 9999 appears twice flanking the leaf, and the lower rim reads FINE GOLD 1/4 OZ OR PUR. A micro-engraved maple leaf bearing the last two digits of the year is laser-struck into the field as an anti-counterfeiting measure, visible only under magnification.

Each coin measures 20 mm in diameter with a reeded edge and ships in a protective flip or in mint tubes for larger orders. Weight and purity are guaranteed by the Royal Canadian Mint. Dates and portraits vary by inventory.
