The 1/10 oz Gold Britannia condenses the Royal Mint’s flagship bullion coin into a fractional size that trades easily and prices accessibly. Each coin carries a full 1/10 troy oz of gold with a £10 face value backed by the British government. Dates are of our choice from available stock, so your coin may be struck in 22-karat (.9167) gold from the 1987–2012 era or .9999 fine gold from 2013 onward; either way the pure gold content is identical.

Key Features:

  • Purity and Weight: 1/10 troy oz of gold, .9167 or .9999 fine depending on year, £10 legal tender
  • Metal: Royal Mint gold, alloyed in earlier issues and four-nines pure from 2013 on
  • Obverse Design: The effigy of Queen Elizabeth II or King Charles III, depending on year
  • Reverse Design: Philip Nathan’s Britannia standing with trident, shield, and olive branch

The obverse depends on the date drawn. Coins from 2023 onward carry the right-facing portrait of King Charles III ringed by CHARLES III D G REX F D and the 10 POUNDS denomination. Earlier issues show Queen Elizabeth II through several generations of effigies, from Raphael Maklouf’s crowned portrait through Ian Rank-Broadley’s and Jody Clark’s designs, each with the corresponding royal titles.

The reverse presents Britannia, the female embodiment of the nation that has appeared on British coinage since Roman times. Philip Nathan’s rendering, in use since the series began in 1987, shows her standing against wind and surf in a Corinthian helmet, gown streaming behind her, gripping a trident in one hand and holding an olive branch alongside a Union Jack shield in the other. The inscriptions BRITANNIA, 1/10 oz, and the fineness frame the figure, and recent issues add a radial-line background for security and shine.

Coins in this listing arrive in Brilliant Uncirculated condition with full luster. Because dates vary, the exact effigy, fineness, and finish details will differ from coin to coin, though gold content never does.

World-recognized design, sovereign backing, and a modest price of entry give this fractional Britannia lasting utility. Order your random year 1/10 oz Gold Britannia today.
