- Don’t Tread On Me design laser-etched into cast bars
On the obverse is the Don’t Tread On Me design famously seen on flags in 1775. This design features a timber rattlesnake coiled and ready to strike. Below this image is ‘DON’T TREAD ON ME’.
The reverse side is left blank intentionally. The only marks on this side are made from the mold in the casting process.
The Don’t Tread on Me first appeared on a flag designed by politician Christopher Gadsden in 1775 during the American Revolution. He got the idea for using a rattlesnake from Benjamin Franklin when earlier in 1775 he published an essay where he suggested the rattlesnake would make a good symbol for the American spirit. Gadsden’s design is a timber rattlesnake against a yellow background and the words ‘DONT TREAD ON ME’. Later versions of the flag added an apostrophe in ‘don’t’. Some conservative groups have adopted the flag as their symbol as they think it speaks of smaller government or against government overreach.
If you are tired of boring bars that you just put in storage for no one to see then you are going to love these bars. The Don’t Tread On Me design adds a little feistiness that you are going to want to put on display. These also make great gifts for friends, family or clients. Get yours today.
