The 2021 Asahi Liberty Trade Buffalo 1 oz Silver Round hits all the right notes when it comes to a patriotic round. The design is both fresh and familiar. This round is made from 1 oz of .999 pure silver.
Key features:
- New series from Asahi
- Contains 1 Troy oz of .999 pure silver.
- Obverse side features and image Sitting Bull
- The reverse side of the coin shows a charging buffalo
Undoubtedly, inspired by the design of the Buffalo Nickel, this design has a fresh take on the side that featured an Indigenous Warrior Chief. This version is a depiction of perhaps the most famous chief, Sitting Bull. He looks like the young leader we have come to know and is wearing a full headdress. He participated in the Battle of Little Bighorn and fought to keep his people free and independent during the wave of settlers that moved west in the early 19th century. The background has a western textile pattern to it. At the top right of the coin is ‘.999 1 Troy AG’. At the bottom is ‘2021’.
The obverse of this coin doesn’t have the buffalo inspired by the famous bison, Diamond-like the Buffalo nickel but has a new design of the American bison in action. Here the bison has its head lowered and looks to be charging. The American Bison was an important resource in the life of the indigenous tribes. Bison was a source of food, clothing, and even building materials. Above the image is ‘LIBERTY’ and ‘INDEPENDENCE’. At the bottom of the coin is ‘FREEDOM’. At the bottom edge of the coin is the Asahi mint mark.
This is a great opportunity to add some silver and a fresh design that is sure to appeal to fans of the Buffalo Nickel. It kind of feels like an updated version using modern minting techniques and more detail. Get yours today.
