Perth’s Lunar III series is known for its meticulous craftsmanship and superb artistry. Jenna McKenna, Perth Mint’s artist has delivered with this design of a tiger and its cub on a rock ledge surrounded by bamboo and ferns. Struck in 5 oz of bullion grade .9999 fine silver, this heartwarming scene of a tiger parent showing the young tiger cab the ropes, really pops. At the top of the coin is the Chinese character for tiger and ‘TIGER 2022’. To the left of the image is the Perth Mint’s mint mark, ‘P’. At the base of the rock ledge are Jenna McKenna’s initials, ‘JM’. 

 

The obverse of the coin has Jody Clark’s design of Queen Elizabeth II commissioned in 2015. The image features the queen in profile wearing her crown and royal jewels. Above her is written ‘Elizabeth II Australia’. Below her image is ‘5 oz 9999 Ag’ and ‘8 dollars’. This coin is legal tender backed by the Australian government.
