The 1999 1/10 oz American Gold Eagle Coin is small but mighty. This size coin makes it very affordable to buy gold and yet you aren’t compromising with quality and design. Made with 1/10 Troy oz of Fine Gold, Jenny Norris’ eagle design looks absolutely gorgeous.

Key features:

  • Miley Busiek eagle design
  • Made with 1/10 Troy oz of Fine Gold
  • Face value is $5(USD) and is fully backed by the US government.
  • Obverse side has Liberty design
  • Reverse side of coin has eagle design

On the obverse side of the 1999 1/10 oz American Gold Eagle coin, we see Liberty as designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. This design first appeared in 1907 on the $20 Gold Eagle and ran until 1933. This version of Liberty shows her facing the viewer and looks to be walking toward them. She is carrying a torch in her right hand and has an olive branch in the other. At her feet, we see Washington D.C. while the sun is coming up behind her. Surrounding Liberty are 50 stars. Above her head is ‘LIBERTY’. At the bottom of the coin is ‘1999’.

The reverse side of the coin features Miley Busiek’s design.. This design features two adult eagles and a couple baby eagles. One adult is landing with a branch in its talons while the other adult eagle sits presumably in the nest with two baby eagles.  Above the eagle’s head is ‘UNITED STATES OF AMERICA’. To the left of the scene is the Latin phrase  ‘E PLURIBUS UNUM’ which means “From many, one.” To the right of the scene is ‘IN GOD WE TRUST’. At the bottom of the coin is ‘ ‘1/10 oz FINE GOLD and ‘5 DOLLARS’.
