The Morgan dollar is perhaps one of the most underappreciated coins in its day but is very popular today. Designed in 1878 by British die sculptor George T. Morgan, this design would later grace the US Silver dollar until 1904 and again for one year in 1921. It has become so popular that it is known by its creator rather than the image itself.

Each of these coins comes with a custom-fit protective capsule and a numbered certificate of authenticity. This certificate has the same number that is engraved on the edge of the coin.

The obverse side of the coin features Lady Liberty wearing a simple coronet crown wreath with Liberty written on it. This image pops off the coin with its domed shape. This gives an intense relief effect that makes the picture more life-like. Around her is ‘E PLURIBUS UNUM’. There are 13 stars and a date of 1893 marking one of the years it was in circulation.

On the reverse side of the coin is the Lady Liberty design in opposite relief. To the right of her image is ‘1 oz .999 Fine Silver’. To her left is the Osbourne Mint mark.
