The coin that is now known as the Washington Silver Quarter was first struck in 1932 to commemorate the 200th birthday of George Washington. The silver coin contained 6.75 grams of 90% fine silver. This coin continued in production until 1964 when the U.S. Mint was ordered to switch to cupronickel clad copper. The obverse side of the coin featured a portrait of George Washington. This Washington head design was created by John Flanagan and has been used from 1932 to present.  The reverse side of the coin has an American bald eagle sitting on a perch. This design was featured on the 1932 quarter and continued until 1999 but periodically was replaced for instance during the bicentennial celebration in 1976. After 1999 the design has been replaced with designs that commemorate occasions and people.

The Silver Quarter is often referred to as Junk Quarters which is a kind of misnomer. They aren’t actually junk, they are just not numismatic. They definitely have value in their silver content which is why they are still a part of many coin collections.

Be sure to get your piece of history by buying these 90% Silver Quarters. With these quarters you get randomly dated quarters that have a high silver content and represent the quarter that was used in the United States for over three decades.

I bought two tubes. One was definitely BU, the other one not so much.

Just got these from Hero….Very pristine condition for 60 year old coins. I feel that these are a good opportunity to get some collectability into their stack for a relatively inexpensive amount. Cudos to Hero Bullion for making these available!
