American half dollars have a long history of being excellent coins for collectors all over the world. The coins regularly celebrate classic American iconography, commemorating the most important moments, ideas, and people throughout the country’s impressive history. John F. Kennedy and Benjamin Franklin have both made appearances on American silver half dollars, and collectors have come to appreciate the incredible detail and historical significance of almost all of the half dollars created by the United States Mint.

The Silver Walking Liberty Half Dollar doesn’t highlight an individual, but instead pays homage to the classic image of walking Lady Liberty. These coins were minted with 90% pure silver, as was the case with all U.S. Mint silver coins prior to 1965.

This product is a collection of two Silver Walking Liberty Half Dollars, which add up to a total face value of $1 USD.

The coins are marked by variety in almost every respect; these silver products come shipped with a randomized year, condition, and mint mark. The two coins together contain around .715 Troy Ounces of pure silver.

Key Features:

  • Total face value: $1 USD per unit.
  • Minted in 1916-1947.
  • Obverse Depiction: Lady Liberty wears her gown and walks toward a rising sun.
  • Reverse Depiction: An American Bald Eagle.
  • Varied conditions.
  • 90% pure silver.

Hero Bullion is proud to offer consumers this randomized package of two 90% Silver Walking Liberty Half Dollars. The Walking Liberty Design is known all over the world, and collectors for decades have prized the coins for their intricate etchings and vintage appeal. The Walking Liberty Half Dollar design was scrapped in 1947, when Benjamin Franklin’s likeness replaced Lady Liberty on its obverse. These coins were produced during two extremely controversial times in American history.

American Walking Liberty Half Dollars circulated during both World War One and World War Two. We should note that we cannot guarantee variety in this coin package, nor can we promise a specific year or condition. Older coins are likely to have more natural wear-and-tear. However, savvy collectors are likely to appreciate the unique cultural insight provided by coins with low condition. Some of the coins in this series were released over one-hundred years ago.

The marks, scuffs, and even chips in the design of these older products provides evidence of their age and circulation. Imagine holding a piece of American history that was used to purchase products in World War One, the Roaring Twenties, and World War Two. How much more incredible can a historical product be?  The obverse of this coin is the classic walking image of Lady Liberty. She is depicted here in a flowing gown, carrying olive branches and gesturing forward in front of a rising sun. The year, as well as inscriptions of “Liberty” and “In God We Trust” are also included on this side of the coin.

The reverse shows the classic American Bald Eagle resting.

Historians and coin enthusiasts alike can appreciate the impressive history of the Walking Liberty Half Dollar. Struck with 90% pure silver and imbued with the recognizable design of Walking Lady Liberty, these coins are a window into America’s glorious past.

ordered 6 walkers at a good price. A couple of them were pretty slick, only half the date showing. I prefer to see the whole date, otherwise it is barely above a cull. But all in all it was shipped in a timely manner and packaged very well.

Can’t ask for much better than what I received. Ordered 4 dollars face and only got 1 semi slick. Which in my opinion is pretty dang good. Shipped quickly as well. This is my 3rd purchase from hero, definitely won’t be my last. Good job guys.

  3. Chris P (verified owner)

  4. Robert G (verified owner)

I purchased $20 face and am very happy with all the coins.

  5. David R (verified owner)

got a 1939 and 1945 both P,s. G or maybe a little better. But, the prices is fair so even with the shipping portion they come in at under $16 each. Will probably buy again

I also got a 1939 and 1945 both Ps. Nice coins for the price, debating on ordering as I would like a little variety even though I am just starting out with collecting these.

With the last couple of orders I’ve placed with Hero, I had $8 face of these Walkers in with other items. Good variety of dates, 8 coins were worn as one would imagine, 7 looked as if they had been polished on a buffing wheel(still pretty thick, though) and one was ‘44 that I can’t even find any wear at all or contact mark on! Although a very common date, it’s the nicest one I have in my whole Walker collection. It went straight to a capsule needless to say. Very quick turn around from time of order to arriving in the mailbox, as usual!
