Of all the values that Americans hold dear, liberty is likely the most essential to the American identity. The country was founded on the concept of liberty.

People who purchase gold and silver are generally intensely concerned with the importance of liberty. In fact, some people are accumulating bullion as a way to ensure their own liberty remains untouched, even in the face of global financial uncertainty or collapse.

The 50 New Hampshire Goldback Aurum Gold Note’s obverse design highlights this essential virtue of liberty.  The Goldback project began in Utah, where the Goldback, Inc. company premiered its first series of Goldback gold notes. Since then, operations have expanded to include two more states: Nevada and New Hampshire.

All three Goldback series follow similar design types, featuring one “lady virtue” on each of the five denominations. This isn’t where the designs stop, however. Each New Hampshire Goldback Aurum Gold Note also invokes imagery closely related to the cultural and environmental history of its home state.

The 50 New Hampshire Goldback Aurum Gold Note highlights Liberty, or Libertas, as well as a chopped-down tree. She carries a flag that reads “An Appeal to God,” paying clear homage to the God-given right to liberty.

Key Features:

  • .9999 pure gold, 1/20 Troy Ounces.
  • Usable currency in Utah, Nevada, and New Hampshire.
  • Obverse Depiction: Feminine Libertas steps over a felled tree and carries a flag that says “An Appeal to God.”
  • Reverse Depiction: The reversal is the negative of the obverse design.

The main appeal of the Goldback series lies in its use as an alternative currency. Alternative currencies have a strong history in the United States, particularly in smaller communities.

Goldbacks attempt to solve a massive problem in the gold bullion industry: the difficulty of spending gold at retail establishments. Because gold is not frequently sold in extremely small denominations, it can be difficult to find any place willing to accept bullion in exchange for goods or services.

Goldbacks solve this problem by coating each note in a small amount of gold bullion; in the case of the 50 New Hampshire Goldback, this amount of 1/20 of a Troy Ounce of .9999 pure gold.

On the obverse of this gold note is a scene depicting the female personification of Libertas, or Liberty. She steps over a fallen tree and holds a beautiful flag that reads “An Appeal to God.” In her other hand, the classic symbol of a bundle of arrows represents the necessity of defending liberty by any means necessary.

The reverse depiction on this note isn’t hard to understand; it’s simply a negative of the obverse design. This choice makes it much harder for the Goldback to be counterfeited, further securing its functionality as a usable currency.

Whether you’re looking to buy the highest Goldback denomination as a gift, a collectible, or simply as a political statement, Hero Bullion is glad to offer consumers a 50 New Hampshire Goldback Aurum Gold Note.
