On the obverse is Ian Rank-Broadley’s classic depiction of Elizabeth II. Here she is facing to the right with a look of determination on her face. She is wearing a crown and her Royal Jewelry. Above her head is ‘ELIZABETH II’ and ‘COOK ISLANDS”. Below her image is ‘2023’. 

The reverse side of the coin has the image of Sherlock Holmes embedded in the text that covers the whole side. He is shown here in his trademark hat and pipe. At the bottom is his ‘SHERLOCK HOLMES’ in script font. A true Sherlock Holmes fan would realize the words running across the coin aren’t just random words but are lines from The Hound of the Baskervilles, perhaps the most famous Sherlock Holmes case.
