The 2022 1/20 oz Mexican Silver Libertad Coin is the smallest coin offered in silver by La Casa de Moneda Mexico. Though it is the smallest doesn’t mean the mint skimped on the quality or look of this coin. It still is a gorgeous coin. Many put the Mexican Libertad coin on their wishlist every year and it is easy to see why.
Key features:

The obverse side has an image of an eagle with a rattlesnake in its beak. This is a famous scene in Mexican history. The Aztecs saw this scene unfold and decided it was a sign that they should build their city there. This city is where the modern day Mexico City is today. Above this image is written ‘Estados Unidos Mexicanos’ which means ‘United Mexican States’.
On the reverse side is a picture of Winged Victory, the statue that stands on a pedestal in Mexico City. This statue is a popular location for tourists and sports teams who want to celebrate a victory. Behind the statue are the Mexican Volcanoes which are iconic to the Mexican people. Above the image is ‘1/20 Onza PLATA Puro 2022 LEY .999’ which translates to ‘1/20 Ounce Pure Silver 2022 Purity .999’.
Collectors love these coins for their low mintages. After their release, they become scarce and hard to find when trying to purchase them later. These coins are minted at La Casa de Moneda de Mexico, North America’s oldest mint. The Libertad Coin was first introduced in 1981 and quickly became very popular.
This cute little coin is a great quality coin that would look great in any collection. Be sure to get yours today.
