Steampunk is a very popular fantasy setting inspired by Jules Verne and an alternate universe where steam engines proliferated into more than just trains and factory machinery. This setting has inspired books, movies, games and cosplayers to imagine what that world and its residents would look like. It is fun to wonder what the world would have been like in the 1800s if steam engines were everywhere? On the obverse of the coin is an image of Queen Elizabeth II stamped into a coin shaped element that might be a plaque on a machine or on a manhole cover in the city. The reverse side is an image of what might be a commonplace scene at the train station in this alternative universe setting. In this scene we see a person in the foreground, perhaps a wealthy businessman who travels by steam powered jet pack so he can get to his meetings on time. In the background is a train which is something common to even our universe but maybe in a steampunk setting this is the transportation for everyone else who can’t afford a cool jetpack. Also in the background is a guy on a bike and a mechanical dog. As a fun bonus, there are several Jules Verne references hidden in the design. 

 

This coin has an antique looking finish that makes it look like a pewter but is accented with shiny gold elements.
