As Low As $84 Over Spot per Coin!

The 1 Oz Austria Gold Philharmonic Coin has long been an anticipated annual release from the historic Austrian Mint.

The series is considered the official gold series of the country, and it boasts a face value of $100 Euro backed by the government of Austria. Clearly, this face value does little to put a dent in the actual worth of the coin, which is struck with .9999 gold and weighs a total of one whole Troy ounce.

The 2021 1 Oz Austria gold Philharmonic Coin’s design pays homage to the rich musical history of Austria. The nation has been called home by several of history’s most respected composers, including Mozart himself.

Both the reverse and obverse depictions of this piece have been designed by famed artist Thomas Pesendorfer. Though silver and platinum editions of the Austria Philharmonic Coin are also available, the gold-struck version is the oldest. This is the thirty-third annual release of the 1 Oz Austria Gold Philharmonic Coin!

Key Features:

  • .9999 pure gold.
  • Backed by the Austrian government (face value: 100 Euros).
  • Reverse depiction: Five cellos, a harp, a bassoon, and an Austrian horn.
  • Obverse depiction: The famous Austrian Great Organ.

It would be a mistake to discount the classic appeal and exciting history of the Austrian Mint. Founded over nine-hundred years ago, the mint is among the oldest in the world.

Located in Austrian capital Vienna, its coins regularly spark interest among new and seasoned collectors alike. Even so, the Austria Gold Philharmonic coins remain some of the most coveted yearly releases from the mint.

The obverse of this piece depicts a classic symbol of Austria’s music culture, the Great Organ. The Great Organ, located in the historic Golden Concert Hall, has come to represent much of what music fans love about the home of Mozart, as well as countless brilliant orchestras that have performed in the venue.

The .9999 pure gold striking of this coin is a perfect way to show off the intricate details which make the Great Organ one of the most coveted instruments in the entire world.

While the reverse side of the coin is less specific to Austria, it nevertheless furthers the theme of music appreciation that sits at the core of this coin’s artistic design. Eight instruments are depicted: a cello, four violins, a harp, a bassoon, and an Austrian horn.

Simplicity is the key to this reverse design; the instruments are detailed, yet largely outlines. The cello is centered, with the four violins flanking it on either side. The rest of the instruments rest in the background.

Any fan of music is sure to appreciate both unique designs featured on this 2021 1 Oz Austria Gold Philharmonic coin. The home of famous composers like Mozart, Austria has always been undoubtedly linked to the cultural phenomenon of music and composition.

Celebrate the country’s beautiful history of commitment to the high arts with this coin, which holds value as the 33rd collectible coin in a long-standing annual tradition from the Austrian Mint.
