The American Silver Eagle coin has an extensive history, both inside the U.S. and around the world. Along with the Canadian Maple and select other coins, the Silver Eagle remains one of the most coveted coins in the bullion community. The coin featured the same design for many decades, and it is only in 2021 that the 2021 1 oz American Silver Eagle Type 2 version is being officially released by the U.S. Mint. The old design depicted the Bald Eagle as it is featured in the Presidential seal. The design was pitched and drafted by Emily Damstra. Her interest was in depicting the eagle in a natural state, flying through the air and preparing for a landing.
