Since the era of the Ancient Romans, Britannia has been one of the most recognizable feminine representations of Great Britain. Britain’s reputation as one of the oldest empires in the world is indisputable. The country has long been a major producer of some of the most valued gold and silver coins in the bullion industry, too.

In fact, the British Royal Mint was first founded all the way back in 886 AD. In age, the mint is second only to France’s Monnaie De Paris, which has been striking bullion coins since 864 AD.

The incredible history of both the Britannia symbol and the mint behind it strengthens the natural appeal of the Britannia coin, a product that has long been coveted by collectors around the globe.

Hero Bullion could not be more excited to bring you the 2021 ¼ Oz Gold Britannia Coin, which is minted with an intricate design of Britannia herself and a unique set of security features.

Key Features:

  • .9999 pure gold.
  • Face value of 25 Pounds backed by Great Britain.
  • Reverse Depiction: Britannia holds a trident and the shield of England.
  • Obverse Depiction: Queen Elizabeth II wears a crown and pearl earrings.

Unique to this series from the British Royal Mint is the set of security features on the reverse side. It includes microtext reading “Decus Et Tutamen,” which means “an ornament and a safeguard.”

Additionally, rotating the coin on the reverse side reveals a padlock illustration, making it even harder for counterfeiters to bypass security and reproduce this iconic coin.

The British Royal Mint is famous for its incredible security features, which provide an added sense of protection for investors in this form of bullion.  The reverse side of the coin features the likeness of Britannia.

Even in Ancient Rome, Britannia was used as a popular symbol for the British Isles. In the nineteenth century, the image became a popular fixture in British culture, as well as their world famous coins and other bullion items. Here, Britannia is depicted holding a trident, meant to symbolize the powerful naval power of the British empire. She also holds a shield bearing the flag of Britain, invoking once more the identity of the country which she has come to represent.

We’d like to make special mention of the textured wave design of the reverse of the ¼ Oz Gold Britannia Coin. In addition to acting as a difficult-to-replicate security feature, it’s impossible to deny the brilliant appearance of the waves before which the powerful icon of Britannia stands and gestures.

The obverse design of this coin should come as no surprise for people familiar with the works of the British Royal Mint. Queen Elizabeth appears in her classically regal form, wearing her traditional crown, as well as her simple pearl earrings. This side of the coin also includes the face value of the piece (25 Pounds), as well as relevant mint information.

The 2021 ¼ Oz Gold Britannia Coin allows collectors to grab their own piece of the tremendous history of Great Britain, as well as the respectable work of the famous British Royal Mint.

Beautiful coin with an intricate design that doubles as a security feature, add in the lower premium and this coin is a must buy. My order shipped fast, and the packaging was secure and the coin was well protected.

One of the lowest priced quarter ounce bullion. I love the new security features added, makes the coin look even better.

the Royal Mint pulled out all the stops for their Brittania series of gold and silver coins..this was my first gold bullion coin purchase, and im glad I made it, however, I have since bought a few American eagles (type 2) as well as a gold maple, and as pretty as the Britannias are, I gota say im kinda partial to the eagles and maples. With that said, this is still a stunning coin and with such low premiums as supposed to eagles and maples, you can’t go wrong with the Brittania and I highly doubt you’ll be sorry if u nab one
