Using .9999 fine silver, the Germania Mint has created something special with this Limited Edition coin featuring the majestic image of Germania holding a two headed eagle on her arm. Around the edge of the coin we see ‘Germania’, ‘2020’ and ‘999.9 Ag’.

The reverse side of the coin features the effigy of the Germania Mint, a fierce-looking eagle with two heads and holding crooked-looking arrows which are supposed to be lightning bolts. The eagle is surrounded by olive branches. The two-headed eagle would be familiar to the German people as it is a symbol of Janus from Germanic Mythology. The eagle’s two heads are pointing in two different directions symbolizing the past and future. Perhaps this effigy reminds us of the Germania Mints’ strong past and bright future.
