The Austrian Mint released the 1/10 oz coin in 1991 after they saw the success of the 1989 coins. They decided it was time to expand their selection. Many collectors love having another size option when buying their coins. It’s also no surprise that, despite being smaller, it is in no way lesser in quality. In 2020, The Austrian Mint still delivered a beautiful coin in .9999 fine gold.

Key features:

  • 30th release of the 1/10 oz Austrian Gold Philharmonic
  • Made of 1/10 Troy oz of .9999 fine gold
  • Face value of 10 Euro is backed by the Austrian government.
  • On the obverse is an image of the pipe organ at Musikverein
  • The reverse side has a variety of philharmonic instruments

With the introduction of the ¼ oz size of the Austrian Gold Philharmonic coin in 1989, it quickly became apparent that people liked the smaller size coin. This led to the introduction of the 1/10 size in 1991. Unsurprisingly, this has been an extremely popular size. Collectors seem to like more choices when buying gold. The Austrian Mint has gone on to release 4 more sizes.

The obverse side of the coin has the pipe organ as seen in the Musikverein, home of the world-famous Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. The Musikverein has several concert halls but the main one is the Gold Concert Hall. This is where the organ sits and the orchestra performs. Above the image is ‘REPUBLIK OSTERREICH’. Below the image is ‘1/10 UNZE GOLD 9999 2020’. At the bottom of the coin is ‘10 EURO’.

On the reverse is an assortment of instruments used by the Philharmonic. Here we see a cello, violins, a bassoon, a French horn, and a harp.  Above the instruments is ‘WEINER PHILHARMONIC’.

The Austrian Gold Philharmonic coin is a trusted source of quality gold coins and the 2020 1/20 Gold Philharmonic coin is evidence of why that is the case. Be confident you are making the right choice. Get yours today.
