Platinum is rarer than gold in the ground and far less common in bullion form, which makes fractional platinum a practical way into the metal. The 1/10 oz British Platinum Britannia delivers a tenth of an ounce of 999.5 fine platinum from The Royal Mint, backed by a £10 face value and full legal tender status in the United Kingdom.

Key Features:

  • Purity and Weight: 1/10 troy oz of 999.5 fine platinum
  • Metal Type: Platinum
  • Obverse Design: Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II or left-facing effigy of King Charles III, depending on year of issue
  • Reverse Design: Philip Nathan’s standing Britannia with trident and Union shield

The reverse carries the figure that has anchored the series since its launch. Britannia stands in profile with a trident held upright in her raised hand, her gown pressed against her legs and streaming behind her in heavy folds. Her other hand rests on an oval shield bearing the Union flag, and she stands on broken, rocky ground. The field behind her is worked in a fine cross-hatched texture, with a circular disc set low in the left field. BRITANNIA runs down the left edge, 1/10 oz sits at the top, and 999.5 PLATINUM curves down the right. Nathan’s surname is signed along the base.

Because this coin has been produced across two reigns, the obverse varies by date. Earlier strikes bear the crowned, right-facing Elizabeth II portrait by Jody Clark, with the initials JC beneath the truncation and the legend ELIZABETH II D G REG F D 10 POUNDS. Later strikes carry the uncrowned, left-facing Charles III effigy against a finely textured field, inscribed CHARLES III D G REX F D 10 POUNDS. Both faces are ringed by a beaded border.

Coins ship brilliant uncirculated, direct from mint supply. Year of issue and effigy vary with available inventory, and orders are filled from our current stock.
